During the pandemic I have watched how the short life of cheap domestic flowers have secondary lives. One in their shadows cast and another in the shapes made of fallen petals, a natural metronome. Petal stacks gather these.

Imagined Lives

Alfred de Mudders' text accompanies glass plates developed by the Lumier Brothers 1893. Found in a Parisian antique shop and very kindly gifted to me by Irish fashion designer Helen Cody. The plates seem to invite me to invent potential imagined lives and alternative understandings to what never was.

I’m saddened to hear the news of Dolores, I was lucky to take her portrait for Cara Magazine, she put the whole crew at ease, remembering everyone’s name and asking about their lives. I was hugely nervous so she pep-talked me through the shoot, I often think of her kindness.
